Class of 2015 Regie Robinson Named to 2015-16 ALL-MAC Freedom Women's Basketball Team

2015-16 ALL-MAC FREEDOM WOMEN’S BASKETBALL TEAM ANNOUNCED

ANNVILLE, Pa. - The Middle Atlantic Conference office released the 2015-16 All-MAC Freedom Women's Basketball Team Thursday morning. Three Eastern players received recognition from league coaches for their outstanding play this past season. Regie Robinson was named MAC Freedom Rookie of the Year. She is the fourth Eastern player in the last five years to receive that honor.

"Regie did an outstanding job this season coming in as a freshman and playing at a high level," said Head Coach Eric Houston. "She has an excellent set of skills and has yet to reach her full potential. I am incredibly happy for her and her family to receive the Rookie of the Year award. I feel that this award will motivate her to accomplish even more throughout her collegiate career."

Robinson finished the season ranked seventh in the MAC and first on the team in scoring finishing the season with 395 points averaging 15.8 points per game. She posted a .470 shooting percentage, totaled 218 rebounds, recorded 47 steals, and posted 23 blocks. Robinson also received Honorable Mention for the All-MAC Freedom team.

Emily Lavin and Taylor Price, the last two Eagles to be named Rookie of the Year, were both named to the second team.

Lavin finished the season third on the team in points with 317 averaging 14.4 points per game. She also totaled 211 rebounds this season and recorded 100 blocks as well. Lavin's best performance of the season came against Messiah on November 24th when she posted a triple-double scoring 26 points, grabbing 12 rebounds, and tallying 11 blocks. Lavin finished the season ranked fourth in the NCAA and tied for first place in the MAC in blocks.

"Lavin has a good skill set and can change the game by protecting the rim," continued Houston. "She is a match-up problem for most teams with her length and ability to put the ball on the floor and attack the basket. I am very happy for her and this accomplishment. She is well deserving of this honor, and I am positive that this will motivate her to be the best."

Price capped off a solid sophomore season scoring 347 points averaging 13.9 points per game. She also recorded 163 rebounds and 92 assists. Price scored 20 or more points four times this season including a season-high 25 against FDU-Florham on January 13th.

"Taylor is a very hard-working individual who comes in day in and day out to work on her game and only wants to get better," said Houston. "She plays both ends of the floor at a high level whether it be matching up against top players defensively or scoring on the offensive end. She is a mentally tough kid, and I am very happy for her to receive this award."

All three players return for the Eagles next season and will look to return Eastern to the playoffs and deliver its first MAC Freedom title in school history.

"I am already looking forward to next season and having these three ladies back," concluded Houston. "I will look to them to be leaders next season and to help in the building of this program."
