In a battle of unbeatens, Upper Merion survived losing the second set to wear down Garnet Valley in 4 sets by scores of 25-23, 18-25, 25-10 & 25-15. Emily Shannon and Eryn Brady led the offense with 12 and 13 kills respectively while Carlye Odorisio returned to the lineup from an injury to register 27 assists and 20 service points. Ashley Shannon was outstanding in leading the defense with her 30 digs and solid passing of serve. Emily Shannon had 14 digs and Emma Andraka contributed 12. The blocking improved as the match wore on and was led by Niki Carpenter's 3 block kills. Carolyn Helenski had 7 kills and Emma Andraka added 5 kills. The victory boosts UM's record to 8-0 as the Lady Vikings head for a 1st place showdown with Upper Dublin on Tuesday night.
